Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is holding an event to coincide with Learning Disability Awareness Week. It is aimed at people with learning disabilities and there will be interactive workshops. The event is being held 10am-1pm on Wednesday 20 June at: SaBP Trust HQ, 18 Mole Business Park, Leatherhead, KT22 7AD.
As well as a presentation on communication, there will be a room set up with touch screen personal computers and iPads for people to try. There will also be a sensory room to promote sensory communication and interaction. The event also includes a short production highlighting the STOMP project, which stands for Stop the Over Medication of People with Learning Disabilities and Autism. This will be presented by people who have been through that experience.
