Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccination Centre update

The Covid-19 Vaccination Service at Epsom Racecourse will be relocating to Sandown Park Racecourse from 17 May 2021.

The NHS COVID-19 vaccination programme continues to make strong progress. Thanks to the commitment and dedication of all of those involved, in just three months across Surrey Heartlands the NHS has administered over 300,000 COVID-19 vaccinations to local people.

The vaccination centre at Epsom Downs Racecourse has played a huge part in the success of the vaccination programme. 9 in 10 people in the top four priority groups having already received their first dose. If you are in those groups and haven’t come forward yet, it’s not too late.  It’s quick and simple to book at and the vaccines are safe and effective.

Now, as the country moves out of lockdown restrictions and plans to phase the return of horse racing events at Epsom emerge, there is a need to relocate the vaccination centre to Sandown Park.

Vaccination appointments, for those eligible, will continue at Epsom Downs Racecourse until 15 May. From 17 May all appointments will take place at Sandown Park. Once invited people should continue to book their appointment for the vaccination centre though the national booking system. We expect the move to Sandown Park to be made without disruption and are grateful to the Jockey Club for their commitment to continue supporting the vaccination programme in Surrey.

Local people booking appointments now may receive their first dose at Epsom Downs Racecourse and second dose at Sandown Park.

Details on appointment bookings can be found on our Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccination FAQs page.

The site at Epsom also accommodates a local vaccination service which is managed by local GPs. This service will also re-locate within the same timeframe and it is expected to remain within the local Epsom area.
